2 YEARS!!

February 13th was our 2 year anniversary! It is so crazy that it really has been that long since our big day! I am truly a lucky girl to be married to my best friend, and to someone that is as patient and caring as my awesome husband is! He puts up with a lot that's for sure! :) Our anniversary was on a monday this year and Ryan had to work, so we just went to dinner that night to celebrate and then we took a little vacation to Salt Lake a few weeks later! It was a blast! My awesome sister Aubrey took Heath for the weekend and we got to have 3 days with just the two of us! it was so fun! we went to the Jazz vs. Heat game, which was the best game we could have gone to for my first NBA game! It was a buzzer win for the Jazz, and the whole place was going crazy! It was so much fun! We went and toured through temple square and watched the new movie in the Legacy Center, which I highly recommend to everyone! It is awesome! I love temple square and just being there so it was a great day! We went shopping and to movies and just were able to relax and spend time together! It was such a fun weekend! I cant find the memory card with all the pics on it so once I find it there will be pictures :)

Birthday Boys!

January was the month of birthdays at our house! Ryan turned 28 on January 26th and Heath had his first birthday on January 29th so it was a really fun week at the Cherry house! for Ryans Birthday he had to work, but we were able to get a baby sitter and go to dinner that night at Buffalo Wild Wings (ryan absolutely loves :)), and then come home, open presents, and have cake and ice cream.  I had a plan that day to get the house all decorated and make this awesome cake and go all out, but plans had to change when I ended up with a flat tire on my way to Walmart, and had to spend most of the day trying to get it fixed haha oh the joys of life! I guess I have learned not to wait till the last minute to get any bday decorations or stuff to make the cake :) needless to say we had to be flexible with what we had and it turned out to be a great night! He really wanted a new driver for his birthday, and since I know absolutely nothing about golf he bought one for himself earlier that week, so im pretty sure he was already really happy with how his birthday turned out :)!  Heath's birthday was so much fun! We had Ryans family over for dinner and to celebrate after church that day, so there were lots of people there and he loved it! I made a baseball cake for him to demolish, and lots of little brown cupcakes to form a mitt for everyone else. Needless to say he went to town on the baseball cake and had cake all over kitchen in a matter of minutes :) (the kid can eat that is for sure!) He had a blast opening all the presents and playing with his new toys haha I think his first year of life was a pretty good one! Here are some pictures of our birthday week!

First Christmas

Heath's first Christmas was a blast! I definitely think that Christmas is so much more fun with kids to spoil and to watch experience the holidays for the first time! We were with the Cherry family this year for Christmas and it was so much fun to be surrounded by so many family members! Ryan is the youngest of 5 kids and Heath is # 13 of 14 grand kids so there are always so many people around to hangout with and to talk to! Heath loves to play with his older cousins and have them pack him around all over the house, its hilarious how every time we leave to go back home he is totally exhausted from running around so much that he is usually asleep within 5-10 minutes of leaving the house. This was my first Christmas with the Cherry side so it was a lot of fun experiencing different traditions and getting to know all the things they like to do over the holidays! On Christmas Eve we all had a lot of fun opening presents in a gift exchange that Ryans parents set up for all the adults, after all was said and done we ended up with a humidifier (which was awesome for me because Rexburg is probably the driest place I have ever lived! :)) and a hand mixer which I love! Ryans parents gave all the grandkids a box full of little gifts for each child which included an m&m mug full of m&m's and cute little matching gloves, some Christmas toys, and a new fleece blanket that Ryan's mom made for each of them! Heath's blanket was a blue and orange BSU blanket that he loves to cuddle with in his crib! After everyone got to open their gift we read the Christmas story out of the bible while the kids acted it out on a story board, it was a lot of fun watching the kids getting excited over not just their gifts but also about the true meaning of Christmas as well and wanting to take part in the story. The next morning we all woke up really early and opened presents, it was so much fun for Ryan and I to be able to play Santa for the first time and to see how excited Heath was over everything. It was pretty funny though how confused he was over everything, first we woke him up extremely early (which has never happened) and then we give him all these presents to open (that I have been trying to keep him away from for the last week or so) and then once he opens one we take it away and give him another one to open hahah so needless to say he was really confused during the whole thing. After all the presents were torn apart we had breakfast and went to church. I love it when Christmas is on a Sunday! It definitely makes you think about what the holidays are all about and gives you a chance to really sit be thankful for all that we have been blessed with. All the talks in Sacrament meeting were on the birth of the savior and the meaning of Christmas, so the spirit was incredibly strong and it was wonderful to be there and experience that. This holiday season has really made me thankful for my family and for all the blessings and things in my life that have helped to strengthen my in my Savior and in his plan for each of us. Family Pictures!

Back in August we went to Utah for a little family reunion with the McSpadden side of the family, and while we were there we got our family pictures taken. I was a little nervous of how Heath would do with getting his picture taken because at home it is almost impossible to take his picture, but with everyone trying to get him to smile and giving him so much attention he did awesome! I couldnt have been happier with how all the pictures turned out! Here is my cute little family! :)

Like father like son! Heath absolutely loves Ryan, every day when Ryan walks in the door from work Heath gets this huge smile on his face and gets sooo excited to see him! I also love how much Heath looks like his daddy, they are so alike in so many ways! 

I love this picture of Heath and I, it turned out perfect! Heath is definitely a momma's boy and I love that so much! Now that he can crawl and is getting close to walking he doesnt want to be held very much, but every now and then when he is tired and ready for a nap he loves to be held and loved on. At bed time he is definitely my cuddle bug! :) 

I love this picture of Ryan and I! I am such a lucky girl to have him in my life, he is the best husband and father that I could ever ask for and is my best friend in every way! We have so much fun together and I look forward to spending each day with him! 

My little munchkin! :) Heath is such a fun little boy and I love these pictures because they show his cute little personality! He is the most laid back content little guy and I am so happy for that! I hope all my kids are as easy going as he is or I dont know how I will handle it haha. He is crawling all over getting into everything and just starting to try and walk, I love watching him grow and experience new things every day, he definitely keeps me on my toes! We love him and all the happiness he brings to our family!

This last weekend we went up to Island Park and camped with the Cherry family over labor day, It was such a fun weekend and we are so blessed to have such an awesome family! We got there Friday evening and came back on Monday, so we had lots of time to just play and relax with everyone over the three day weekend. It was really nice to get away from everything and go up in the mountains surrounded by nothing but trees. We stayed at a place right on the lake and had so much fun boating, sitting around the campfire eating some awesome dinners, Ryan's mom J'lene is an amazing cook and made sure nobody went hungry! We spent lots of time playing card games like Wacky 6 and Rage, Wacky 6 is now my favorite games...even though I pretty much suck and AnnMarie killed us all haha.   Ryan and I learned how to wake board which was an extremely long learning process for me :) (thanks Mitch and Justin for your patience haha) but I eventually got the feel for it and was able to figure it out! Ryan popped right up his first time and did awesome with it. He is just so naturally good at sports it amazes me! He did awesome on the wake board and rocked the knee board... right before he got rocked by the tube haha he is a hard core boater :) needless to say we were both extremely sore the next few days but it was well worth it! We were gone over Saturday evening which was a huge sacrifice for all the guys to make since that was the same night as the first BSU game....OH NO!!! haha no worries...we got the radio broadcast and were able to listen to it from one of the truck radios GO BRONCOS! Heath did amazing for only his 2nd time camping. It got pretty cold at night, but it was really nice that Ryan's parents have a camping trailer that we were able to sleep in and keep warm, especially with an 8 month old baby! Nights were a little rough for Heath but as long as he was kept warm with a full tummy he was all good :) We had such a fun weekend with everyone and are not quite ready for summer to end yet! Thank Cherry Family for such an amazing weekend!

TEETH!!!

We have teeth! :) haha Heath finally had his first two teeth break through over the weekend, and life has gotten so much better!!! He has been miserable the past few weeks, chewing on everything in sight and slobbering all over everything. His nose has been running like crazy and has been running a slight fever for a long time now! I have kept him on meds for the pain and bought every freezer toy possible to help him feel better but once those first two teeth finally came through he has been so much happier, it was almost instant relief for him. He has been sleeping through the night and has eaten all his food during the day, so you can imagine how much happier he has been with the extra few hours of sleep, not to mention how much happier I have been :) (I am not a very nice person with no sleep! haha) I know he still has a long way to go until all his teeth are in, but im hoping those first two teeth are the worst... a mom can only hope! :)
